Connection Theory v4.6
A General Framework for Adaptive Network Dynamics — From Temporally Extended Existence to Emergent Dynamic Properties
Author: Kai Wang
Version: 4.6
Status: Preprint
Role: Foundation / parent framework
Connection Theory develops a general framework for studying persistent adaptive organizations as temporally extended systems rather than as isolated snapshots. It distinguishes active manifestation of a capability from capability-relevant persistence, organizational continuity, feedback availability, and current applicability to the environment.
The paper is the parent framework for the current research program. It is intended to generate operational distinctions and experimentally testable questions across biological, artificial, and social adaptive systems, while leaving its broader cross-domain scope open to empirical revision.
Research role
This paper provides the conceptual foundation used by later work on active updating, evolutionary trajectories, life, identity, and artificial adaptive systems.
